Alesha Dixon is a singer, dancer, television personality, mother, Swisse ambassador and one of the country’s most loved stars. Her latest album ‘Do It For Love’ is set to be her best and most personal record yet, and marks her return to the music business with a reinvigorated, energised outlook on life.
The starlet’s astonishing 16 year career boasts nine Top 10 singles, three Platinum Albums and recognition at the MOBO and BRIT awards. 2001 marked Alesha’s debut as a finger-snapping rapper and one third of the brilliant Mis-Teeq, part of the original bedrock UKG scene that went on to take on the world. Following that, she was the sleek millennial solo proposition; the finely tuned groove machine.
In an unexpected career diversion, Alesha fashioned a second career as Saturday teatime TV royalty, first as a winner-turned-judge of Strictly Come Dancing then as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. She first thought about heading back into the music scene in 2012 but put her album on hold when she became pregnant with her daughter Azura.
For her re-entry to pop’s top sphere in 2015, Alesha has taken creative and business control of every aspect of her fourth solo record – the first release on her Precious Stone Records label. Setting up business by herself was not an easy decision to make, but Alesha’s positive approach has helped her triumph over challenges.
Her new album is Alesha’s favourite yet, proudly proclaiming “This sounds like the future”.
When it comes to her craft, Alesha’s wealth of knowledge of the music industry coupled with a new frame of mind and renewed confidence has helped the singer make her big, bold, current sound exactly where she wanted it to be musically. Alesha believes that the positivity and empowerment running clearly through her new album is attributable to the changes she has experienced since embracing motherhood.
Keeping healthy is vital for this famous songbird and busy mum, who continues to film Britain’s Got Talent and promote ‘Do It For Love’, in addition to managing her record label and taking care of her family. Alesha believes in taking Swisse vitamins and supplements to support energy and maintain health, “It’s just my way of being kind to myself on a daily basis”.
