Vitamin B1 is one of eight water-soluble B vitamins; all of the B vitamins work together synergistically, supporting each other in their various roles in the body Thiamine contributes to normal energy yielding metabolism and supports the normal functioning of the nervous system.

A good source of vitamin B1 is brewer’s yeast. Other sources include meat (especially pork and ham products), tuna, whole grain cereals, nuts, potatoes, seeds and pulses.
